Marshmallow and Liquorice Cough Syrup
- Cook's Note: If using fresh marshmallow root, use 4 dried liquorice roots.
Put the marshmallow, aniseed, cloves, elderberries, liquorice, eucalyptus and orange into a saucepan with 2 1/8 cups water. Simmer until the liquid is reduced by one-fifth. Remove the liquorice and eucalyptus leaves and discard.
Pour into sterilized, clear 250-milliliter bottles. Take 2 tablespoons 3 times a day.
Keep refrigerated. Use within 2 weeks.
